Bits of my weekend

We decided to pack up and head to our lake house for the weekend! I couldn't wait to relax with my babies...little did we know that things would not go as we planned...

Here's my little guy loaded up and ready to hit the road!

When we got to the lake everyone was happy and ready to have a great time! Here is a pic of my hottie husband with the baby in one hand, a pacifier in his mouth, a drink and an electric toothbrush in the other. Oh..what is that you say? An electric toothbrush? Why in the world would you need that?

Well...let me tell you a little story...

Thursday morning Walker woke up at 6 a.m. ticked off at the world. Literally screaming. Now, Walker has always had a set of lungs on him and it is not uncommon for him to yell at us for hours at a time on some days. It is most always because his tummy is hurting and he is trying to work out some things in his tummy, so we have our little tricks and little things that we do to help him (mylicon, gripe water, put him in his swing with the vibration mode on, holding him like Renzi is in the pic above putting pressure on his tummy, etc.).

So..back to the yelling....

So, he is yelling and I put him in his swing and go to turn the vibration on and BAM. The batteries are dead and we are out of that certain kind of battery in our house! Since everyone else was sleeping and I wasn't about to head to the store at 6 a.m. with a screaming baby in tow, I remembered an episode of Sex and the City that I had seen. Samantha uses a certain something to help soothe Baby Brady...Well, let me say that I do NOT have that certain thing...but what I did have was....

My ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH.

And what do you know...that thing worked like magic. I put him in his nap nanny, swaddled him up and put my toothbrush next to him. And HE STOPPED CRYING ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. He even started smiling and cooing and then went right to sleep.

I am a flipping genius!!! :) (*Shamless plug. I realize this. I have no shame.)*

So...needless to say, we now take that toothbrush everywhere we go. And it works EVERYTIME!

It's amazing the things you improvise with when you have a baby.

So...back to the weekend....

Saturday morning Jackson woke up saying his tummy and his head hurt. Of course I didn't have a thermometer at the lake house (but I have 17 at our OKC house, of course!) but I knew he had a fever. I took him to the Urgent Care in Grove and the poor guy had a fever of 103 and had a yucky swollen and red throat and tonsils. We got an antibiotic, ibuprofen and tylenol and headed back to our house and this is how he spent the majority of Saturday. Poor baby.

Walker decided he wanted to yell at us most of the day on Saturday, so that was fun. At one point I looked up and realized that all of my kids (Annabelle) included wanted to get as close to mom as possible. The red blanket is Jackson curled up next to me, Walker sitting in my lap facing me, and Annabelle literally scooted up as close as she could to my legs. Let me tell you, I had to go to the restroom so badly at one point but I didn't dare move and make everyone yell at me again. The things we moms do for our kiddos. :)

Thankfully, by mid day Sunday everyone was feeling a little better so we headed back home to OKC. I took Walker's 2 month pictures in the chair...here he is at one month and at two months.

One Month Old! March 28, 2012.

And Two Months! April 28, 2012 (but I actually took this yesterday on the 29th). What a cutie and what a change from one month to the next!

And thank goodness Jackson made a comeback and is feeling much much better. Look at my cuties!! Love love love love love them to infinity and back.

Picture Dump!

I realized I haven't posted a lot of pictures from my phone of some fun things going on in our lives the past few weeks so this post is going to be more of a picture dump, with captions, of course! :)

Jackson started T-Ball a few weeks ago! Here is my little cutie in his uniform. His first game was at 6 p.m. and he got dressed for the game at noon that day. Just wanted to be prepared in case his mom forgot! He has me figured out already.

Just love this little booty! Oh, and the cute name on the back. The boys got to pick their numbers out and of course Jax chose number 35...Kevin Durant's number! His buddies all chose numbers of other Thunder players as well, so now he refers to his teammates by their number and coresponding Thunder player. It's actually quite impressive.

Last weekend Jackson ran in his first official race! He ran in the Redbud 1 mile Kids Fun Run. I don't think he has ever run that far before at one time so I wasn't totally sure how he would do. He ran with a few of his buddies from school and they were so cute! Here he is racing towards the finish line. Look at that determination!

Here's my guy after he crossed the finish line, red faced and sweaty with his medal! SO proud!

And here are the cutie patooties who ran with him, Nathan, Jax and Calen. Precious, precious boys!

This is what Walker did during the race. I like to think that with his hand raised he was saying in his sleep, "Victory Big Brother, Victory!"

OH!!! Be still my heart. Look at this face! He has just recently started smiling at us...when he's not yelling at us. :) Love him.

This picture makes me laugh. As I was coming back from a walk last night I passed by our recycling bin outside of our house before trash day. It depicts kind of where we are at in our lives right now. Wine and baby detergent. *Disclaimer...we did have a get together last weekend at our house, so it's not like we acquired this many wine bottles by ourselves in one week. Or did we??? I kid, I kid....*

And lastly, I will leave you with this picture of my adorable boys all bathed and ready for bed. I love the smell of Johnson and Johnson's baby soap and I am happy to have a baby to bathe in it again...and I have even had Jackson using it again as well. Such a great smell! (Wow, that was a random thought. You are welcome for that.) :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

My heart

Welcome Back Lee Anne.

See this picture? What's that you ask? Oh, it's just my pump. On the floor. Of a PUBLIC restroom.

I had my first day back at a work function yesterday after having Walker. It was a loooonggg day with a babysitter coming to our house at 7:30 a.m. and staying until 5:30 p.m. Nothing like jumping back into the outside world with a 10 hour day. Ha!

Anywho...I spent most of yesterday at my Leadership Oklahoma City session at Chesapeake Energy and at the Chesapeake Arena learning more about economic development in Oklahoma City.

But, what I didn't look into before I went (because let's face it, as I have mentioned before, I am a procrastinator and not very organized) is where in the world would I pump during the day?

I thought I could use an office in the building we were in...but after further investigation, all of the offices had floor to ceiling windows on 3 of the 4 walls and I really didn't feel like giving the Chesapeake employees a show.

So, I went to the restroom. I plugged my pump into the only outlet next to the sink and pulled the pump as far as it would go to the first stall. And lo and behold, the cord was too short. I had to pull the tubes under the door which meant I couldn't stand up, but I had to sit down.

On the floor.

Of a public restroom.

Things really got interesting when the janitor walked in and tripped over my cord.

That was fun.

Welcome back Lee Anne. Welcome back.

Easter 2012

What a wonderful Easter weekend we had here at the Stone house! I seriously told Renzi last night that it was one of my favorite days ever.

This little bunny made it super special.

As did this little bitty bunny.....

We decided in the last two weeks that since Renzi's dad and step mom would be in town that we would baptize Walker during Easter service at our church on Sunday. It was such a joyous time and although not all of our loved ones could be there, we were so blessed to have some special people attend.

Here is Walker with Reilly and his Godmother Addie (Dee Dee). Love love love them!

And here is Walker with my dad, step mom Saundra and her mom Bobbie Jean. Aren't they cute? Walker is clearly tired of taking pictures at this point and is telling me to talk to the hand.

My mom and my step dad Lewis were there as well...

And Auntie Em and Dustin were there all the way from Austin, TX!!! We joked that it looked like this was their little family. They gained two kids in about 2.5 seconds! :)

My sweet stepbrother, Brian and his wife (and one of my good friends!) Kristen and their daughter Story with Walker and Jackson. Isn't Story's hat fabulous???

And here are Pops and Cine and Walker outside by the angel. So pretty!

And Renzi and his sweet momma. So happy she was there as well.

And lastly, here is my precious little family!

The baptism was so great and our minister, Bob Long, did such an amazing job. He included our whole family in the prayer afterwards and said some special things about Isaiah. Bob is one in a million and he has seen us through so many major events in our lives. He did Renzi's and our pre-marriage counseling, he married us, he baptized Jackson, he baptized Isaiah, he did Isaiah's funeral and now he has baptized sweet Walker. Words can not express how kind our church is to us and we are forever grateful for all that they do for us. If you are ever looking for a church to attend in OKC, St. Luke's United Methodist Church is pretty hard to beat.

We wrapped up the day with a big Easter lunch at our house and had family over for the rest of the day.

It was a day to remember for sure!

Much love,

It's a Very Good Friday indeed!

Happy Good Friday! It's a very good Friday at our house! Renzi's dad and step mom (Pops and Cine) are here visiting from Annapolis and getting a chance to meet Walker. They are making the baby rounds...first they went to Long Beach and visited Grant, Brooke, Jake and new baby Asher...and then flew here Wednesday night and will be here until Monday morning. Jackson is loving having them here and Walker is enjoying the extra snuggles. :)

I thought this picture was funny...the strange positions that babies sleep in. His tummy was hurting so Renzi put him on his lap like this and he calmed down.

Here are my boys watching the Thunder game the other night. Walker was being fussy and whenever he gets like that Jackson always wants to hold him and Walker calms down almost immediately. He must have that magic baby touch.

I just thought this picture looked so cute and snugly.

And here is my sweet baby alert, happy and not crying. Think we are working through these little tummy issues. It looks like he is saying, "Momma...you so crazy."

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. How blessed we are because of Jesus and the sacrifice he made for us on the Cross.

Much love!
