Some Friendly Advice....

Only feed your child Spaghetti-O's and the tube Go Gurt when they are in need of a bath because THIS is what your child will look like afterwards. :)

At the Airport

While at the airport picking up Grandmother the other day, Jackson and I decided to take a seat and do some tricks.....

The making of a Future Baller

Renzi and I took Jackson to Gymboree the other day and we looked over and Jackson had gone over to the basketball hoop, picked up a ball, and was "dunking" it. Neither Renzi, nor I had taught Jackson how to do this...I guess some things are just "known." :) Uncle Tim and Aunt Natalie bought Jackson his first basketball goal for our house, so morning and afternoon drills have begun.

Christmas Day!

Jackson loves his cousin Nathan.

We had such a great Christmas Day! Jackson gave his mom and dad the best present ever by sleeping until 9 a.m.! Whoo hoo! We then checked out what Santa brought and Jackson was fascinated by the car/train set that Santa brought him. He loved the battery operated cars. Renzi made breakfast casserole and crumb cake so we munched on that while we opened gifts. After that we went over to my mom's house for more presents and lunch. Such a fun day! Thanks everyone!

What a whirlwind the last week has been. Such fun and such blessings for our family. I will start this post with Christmas Eve....We went to the early evening church service (the candle lighting/family service), then headed over to my dad and Saundra's for our annual Christmas Eve celebration. We had a yummy dinner of chili and tamales and for dessert we had a fabulous cake to celebrate my grandparents 58th wedding anniversary. Jackson had a ball and really enjoyed opening presents and playing with everyone. Thanks to Dad, Saundra, Matt, Grandma and Papaw for a great evening!

Sleigh Ride!

Last night our neighborhood had a sleigh ride pulled by horses, Becky and Betty, around the neighborhood. There was hot chocolate and cookies and we got a chance to look at Christmas lights. Tim and Natalie came with us. So much fun!

Jackson had his Christmas Party at Mother's Day Out today and had a ball! He danced and sang and ate lots of cookies and cheese. Above is a picture of his teachers, Miss Meghan and Miss Jessie. Thanks to these lovely ladies for taking such good care of my little guy. The other picture is of Jackson giving the statue outside of his classroom a kiss. He also likes to give the Jesus a "high five," so I took a video of it and I posted that as well! I also posted a video of Jackson and Renzi on the slide at Pump it Up at my nephew's 4th birthday party.
Much love!

I have to show you all this video...my man is hilarious.

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Listen to this.....

So I took Jackson to his 15 month well check up appointment yesterday....they did his height and weight and you all will never believe this......He is only 31.5 inches and 21.4 pounds....he hasn't grown that much in the last 3 months (even though he eats ENTIRE chicken breasts and entire cans of peas at one sitting)!...the doctor told me that at age 2 you can usually gage just how tall a person is going to be with some mathamatical equation. So..the doctor looked at the chart that shows how Jackson compares to other kiddos....and he is 50% in height and he said that if Jackson "stays the same," meaning, if he slowly creeps up the height scale, that Jackson may only be average height....which is 5'10 for a man. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME????? HAVE YOU SEEN HOW TALL MY HUSBAND AND I ARE???? Surely a growth spurt will come soon....

Video of Jackson Singing!

Here is the video of Jackson singing along with his new piano set that AJ and Allison got him. It's amazing because he knew EXACTLY what to do with the microphone!

Happy Turkey Day!

What a fun filled Thanksgiving week we had! We spent Wednesday and Thursday in Clinton with my grandparents and had such a wonderful, relaxing time there. Friday, AJ and Allison came into town and AJ, Alli, Tim, Natalie, Renzi and I all went out for a fabulous dinner at The Ranch and out for a little fun afterwards. Also, on Friday, we put up all of our Christmas decorations and as you can see from the pictures, Jackson was a BIG help with the lights and the tree. Our only mishap was when he grabbed a ball ornament and took a big bite out of it like an apple. I had to explain to him that it was glass and didn't taste yummy like a real apple.

Saturday we all went over to Tim and Nat's to watch the OU/OSU game and Alli and AJ bought Jackson a piano and a microphone. It is the best present ever. He loves it. I will try to post a video of it soon. SOOO cute to see my little man singing!

We are so thankful for all of our family and friends and thank you all for your love! We love all of you!

Does Anything Stand Out to You in this Picture

THE FOLLOWING IS A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JACKSON JAMES STONE:
Friends, Family, Countrymen - I have a special announcement. Normally, I dictate important events to my mom and she does the typing, but after consulting with Annabelle (pictured left, above) I have decided to type this post myself. Please excuse any misspellings or grammar mistakes. I am only 14.5 months old. Give me some slack.

Examining the above picture, several things may strike you as interesting.

1. I am holding my blackberry. This tool of modern communication is crucial for me to keep in touch with my friends Cali, Caden and Uncle Tim. And of course my grandparents. I take it everywhere I go. So does my Dad.

2. Annabelle and I have formed a very close relationship. She whispers in my ear and sometimes licks my head. I like her.

3. I drink organic white grape juice. It contains 100% fruit juice and no artificial sweeteners.

4. This shirt I got is brand new. I have no idea what it means to be the "big brother."

Would someone please call my cell (my mom may answer) and let me know the implications of being a "big brother"? I'm totally lost here.

It's a bird, it's a plane...it's SUPERMAN!

We had so much fun on Halloween this year! Jackson was Superman and boy did he look precious! We took him up and down our street to Trick-or-Treat and he was such a pro. He would walk right up to the houses and bang on the door until someone came out to give him candy. Our next door neighbor gave him a cookie and Jackson plopped right down on the driveway and ate the cookie right then and there. After trick or treating we went to The Greens for dinner and Jackson was the hit of the club!
On another note, so sorry these pictures are not the best quality...I bought a disposable camera since I lost our two digital ones, and then scanned these in....but there is some good news...this weekend we bought a new digital camera online and should get it in in a couple of days. WHOOO HOOO! I promise to take good care of this one..... :)

It's amazing how much they grow!

For those of you who are on myspace, I am sure you have seen "The Incredible Shrinking Chair" pictures that I updated each month of Jackson's first year. It's amazing to see how much he would grow from month to month! I know this is a little late, considering Jackson turned 1 August 31st and is now the ripe old age of 14 months old, but I just thought it would be fun to show you guys the difference in my little man from his one month picture, to his 12 month picture in the chair. Jackson has gone from 5 lbs. 5 oz. and 18.5 inches to 23 lbs. 33.5 inches in just one year! Amazing! Enjoy!

We're baaaccccckkkk.....

We are back from our quick, fun weekend in Annapolis for Larry Stone's 60th birthday. We had an amazing time and the weekend went by way too fast! We surprised Larry with a limo Friday and took him to eat at this really nice restaraunt called Acadiana in D.C., the food and wine were spectacular! Saturday, we all took a walk around the Chesapeake Bay and the Navy campus, had brunch at Grumps, then went to the Boat Show. That night we cooked a Thanksgiving dinner. Way to go Larry on the turkey and stuffing, YUM!
Thanks to all of the fam for their hard work in putting this fun weekend together. Happy Birthday Larry!

And we're off....again!

We leave today for a weekend in Annapolis, MD for Renzi's dad's 60th birthday party! Grant, Brooke, Ginny and Dave will all be there and we are so excited to see everyone. Wish us luck with Jackson on the 3 hour plane ride...a couple of weeks ago when we took this same flight was not the best for Jackson. He was a pistol! Traveling with a 14 month old is not the funnest thing in the world. Especially a 14 month old who likes to run everywhere. :)

Here's to a fun weekend and happy plane ride there and back.

Oh and I am working on getting another camera so I can actually take pictures of my little man.

Cheers!

Rough Week!

What a rough week we had here at the Stone house! It all started last Sunday.....Jackson was playing in our room when all of a sudden he lost his balance and fell face first into the fireplace and busted his top gum open. Blood everywhere! He cried a little and Dad took good care of him since I don't do well with blood....we were worried he wouldn't want to eat much of his dinner that night since we were going to Musashi's for my brother's birthday and thought the salt content in the food would bother the cut gums....But boy did Jackson surprise us....he ate everything on his plate and was fascinated with the chef who was cooking in front of us...I think we found a restaraunt where Jackson will finally be entertained and maybe we can actually eat our food at a normal pace. :)

So....on to the rest of the week....

Tuesday evening we went downtown to the Cox Center for the Metro 50 Awards. Each year the OKC Chamber awards the top 50 fastest growing companies in the state, and Renzi's company was up for an award for the 2nd year in a row! We had a babysitter, Lissy, who watches Jackson a lot so off Renzi and I went for the awards dinner. About halfway through dinner I got a call from Lissy and she said Jackson was throwing up! So, I hightailed it home after seeing Renzi get his award and sure enough, my man was projectile vomiting and diarreahing (is that even a word? who cares, I just made it one) everywhere! Poor guy!  This lasted well into the next day and by Wednesday evening Jackson seemed to be making a full recovery. Until he fell into the chair in our kitchen and busted his eyebrow open. Blood again!

And so we press on...

Wednesday night at 11:00 p.m. Jackson woke up with a crazy high fever....we tried to get it down with Tylenol, but it just wouldn't budge...it was 104.8!  So, Thursday we woke up and went to the doctor....and of course, it was just a virus, so he told us to just keep giving him tylenol and it should go down.

So....

Thursday night at 11:30 p.m. I woke up throwing up! I caught Jackson's horrible bug and couldn't function! Renzi had to stay home Friday to take care of Jackson AND me. I did not get out of bed until 5:30 p.m. Friday. I have NEVER done that before.

Needless to say, it's Sunday now and everyone seems to be better at our house. Whew. Let's hope this week is filled with healthy people!

It's been a LOOONGG time!

Wow, it's been a really long time since I last posted...things have just been so crazy in the Stone house. We just returned last Sunday from our week long trip to the East Coast. We spent the first part of the trip in Annapolis and D.C. visiting Renzi's family while he had business in D.C. We had a great time hanging out with Larry in Annapolis and Tuesday night Ginny and Dave hosted a party for us to celebrate Jackson's first birthday since they were unable to make it to his party in Oklahoma. It was awesome and it was so sweet of them to do that.

Wednesday we boarded a train from D.C. to Boston. 7 hours with a 1 year old. It turned out to be a really neat experience and Jackson did pretty well! The scenery was just gorgeous and it was fun to experience the train.
When we got to Boston we checked into our hotel and it was the cutest boutique hotel right in Beacon Hill! We spent Wednesday exploring and went to Hanover Street for a great Italian meal that night.

Thursday and Friday, Renzi had meetings all day, so Jackson and I explored by ourselves. We went to this great park in Beacon Hill right off the Charles River. I think I was the only actual mom watching their children that day at the park. I have never seen so many nannies in one place!

Saturday we took Jackson on his first college visit. :) Harvard. We walked around campus and had lunch on campus as well. So fun! Then we jumped into our (rented) red minivan and drove an hour and a half to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. What a cute town! We shopped and walked around all afternoon, then had dinner on the water and Jackson had his first lobster meal. He LOVED it.

Sunday morning we woke up and had breakfast at this cute place called, "The Friendly Toast," then drove across the bridge to Kittery, Maine where they have these amazing outlet stores. After shopping we drove to Manchester, New Hampshire and flew home!

The sad thing about the trip is that somehow, we didn't make it home with our digital camera. :( For those of you how know me, I still haven't unpacked my suitcase yet, so I am actually holding out hope that it is in there, but it really is not likely that it is. So..I do not have pics to share....which makes me sick...but let's hope it turns up!

It's been a busy week here since we have been back as well. Our computer cord broke on the way home, so we just picked up the computer today so I have felt a little wierd without it all week. Jackson is walking like a champ these days and it is so awesome to watch! I was cooking dinner the other night and I looked into the living room and Jackson walked from the couch to me in the kitchen! Wow...my little boy is growing up!

Much love,
Lee Anne

A fun week so far....

We had such a fun week! We took a wagon walk to the golf course and then had a snack picnic, we watched Yo Gabba Gabby countless times, and....we played the piano....We are off this weekend on our adventure across the East Coast! We will post pics when we can! Seee yaaaaaaa!

Trying to NOT eat crayons.

Jackson had his friend Cali-Kae over on Saturday night for some coloring....my grandparents bought this little table for Jackson for his birthday and it's just perfect for coloring. We are working on coloring with the crayons rather than eating them...as you can see, not quite there yet! :)

First trip to the Zoo!

Jackson woke up this morning a little earlier than usual (7:00 instead of 8:00), so we got up and Renzi made us all banana pancakes, and by the time we cleaned up and were ready, we decided to make our first trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo. I hadn't been since I was a kid and Renzi had never been so off we went. When we pulled up to the zoo at 8:55 a.m. on a Saturday I decided that we were officially old. :)

We had such a great time and I think Jackson did too. He pointed and smiled and talked the entire time we were there. Our favorite part was the Gorilla exhibit. The gorillas were so cute and one even  came right up to the window where Jackson was and made the sign for "OK" against the window. It was awesome!!!

Above are some pics of our adventure today. If you look closely at the picture of Renzi and Jackson you can see the Jaguar in the background!

Much love!
