Here's my little guy loaded up and ready to hit the road!
When we got to the lake everyone was happy and ready to have a great time! Here is a pic of my hottie husband with the baby in one hand, a pacifier in his mouth, a drink and an electric toothbrush in the other. Oh..what is that you say? An electric toothbrush? Why in the world would you need that?
Well...let me tell you a little story...
Thursday morning Walker woke up at 6 a.m. ticked off at the world. Literally screaming. Now, Walker has always had a set of lungs on him and it is not uncommon for him to yell at us for hours at a time on some days. It is most always because his tummy is hurting and he is trying to work out some things in his tummy, so we have our little tricks and little things that we do to help him (mylicon, gripe water, put him in his swing with the vibration mode on, holding him like Renzi is in the pic above putting pressure on his tummy, etc.).
So..back to the yelling....
So, he is yelling and I put him in his swing and go to turn the vibration on and BAM. The batteries are dead and we are out of that certain kind of battery in our house! Since everyone else was sleeping and I wasn't about to head to the store at 6 a.m. with a screaming baby in tow, I remembered an episode of Sex and the City that I had seen. Samantha uses a certain something to help soothe Baby Brady...Well, let me say that I do NOT have that certain thing...but what I did have was....
My ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH.
And what do you know...that thing worked like magic. I put him in his nap nanny, swaddled him up and put my toothbrush next to him. And HE STOPPED CRYING ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. He even started smiling and cooing and then went right to sleep.
I am a flipping genius!!! :) (*Shamless plug. I realize this. I have no shame.)*
So...needless to say, we now take that toothbrush everywhere we go. And it works EVERYTIME!
It's amazing the things you improvise with when you have a baby.
So...back to the weekend....
Saturday morning Jackson woke up saying his tummy and his head hurt. Of course I didn't have a thermometer at the lake house (but I have 17 at our OKC house, of course!) but I knew he had a fever. I took him to the Urgent Care in Grove and the poor guy had a fever of 103 and had a yucky swollen and red throat and tonsils. We got an antibiotic, ibuprofen and tylenol and headed back to our house and this is how he spent the majority of Saturday. Poor baby.
Walker decided he wanted to yell at us most of the day on Saturday, so that was fun. At one point I looked up and realized that all of my kids (Annabelle) included wanted to get as close to mom as possible. The red blanket is Jackson curled up next to me, Walker sitting in my lap facing me, and Annabelle literally scooted up as close as she could to my legs. Let me tell you, I had to go to the restroom so badly at one point but I didn't dare move and make everyone yell at me again. The things we moms do for our kiddos. :)
Thankfully, by mid day Sunday everyone was feeling a little better so we headed back home to OKC. I took Walker's 2 month pictures in the chair...here he is at one month and at two months.
One Month Old! March 28, 2012.
And Two Months! April 28, 2012 (but I actually took this yesterday on the 29th). What a cutie and what a change from one month to the next!
And thank goodness Jackson made a comeback and is feeling much much better. Look at my cuties!! Love love love love love them to infinity and back.
