Shenanigans

Just some pics from this week's shenanigans.

Walker had a cherry Icee. What was I thinking?

Our neighbors came by last night and Jackson loved getting to hold baby Taylor. Jackson LOVES babies and insists on holding any that come his way.

Jackson went to a friends house for a play date yesterday so after Walker's nap he and I had a date at Orange Leaf. Pretty sure he has never been so quiet or sat so still while eating his fro yo. And yes, he insists on two spoons.

And then this....these boys snuggling while watching Yo Gabba Gabba. Love that they love each other so much.

Have a great weekend!

Special

Friday we went to the closing ceremonies of Kankauk Kampout where they had K Life (praise and worship), group skits and awards. At the very end they awarded four boys with the "I'm Third" award, which is an award given to a few people each session who show respect and honor and who put God first, others second and themselves third. And my sweet Jackson was one of the recipients of this award!!!! So so proud of my little guy!

Here is Jackson with a few of his friends from his "tent."

After the closing ceremonies we headed to the lake where we had a wonderful family weekend!

We even got to hang out with our buddies the Furnish's on Saturday and Sunday. Here is Camden Furnish with Walker on the swings at "The Landing." Home slice already has some flirting game with the older ladies!

I always know it was a successful weekend when both boys fall asleep for most of the drive home!

Love the lake!

Kanakuk Kampout

Jackson has been going to Kanakuk Kampout this week in Edmond and is having a big time. I went to Kanakuk as a kid in Branson, Missouri so it is so special for me to be able to send Jacksom to the day camp version! I'm not quite ready (or will I ever be! Ha!) to send him to the actual overnight camp so this will do for now! :)

He is in "tent" number 4 and is with some really sweet buddies. They have been playing sports, swimming, jumping in the bouncy houses, sliding down the water slides, playing on the slip n slide but what I love most is they are spending time doing praise and worship each day and having devotional time as a group. My favorite part of the week was on Tuesday when Jackson came home and he was just so excited that he was able to use his own bible and look up the verse they were studying in the book of Luke. So precious.

Walker and I have been hanging out a lot this week! I am only working one day a week right now (it's my slower time at work), so he and I have been playing, swimming, going to the gym and as you can see in the pic below...reading Elmo books.

It's been a great week. I even had dinner with some sweet friends of mine from high school last night and it just made my heart happy to be with these girls laughing and talking and laughing. Looking forward to an even better weekend at the lake with my boys!

Colorado!

We were home from Tennessee for two days and we packed up the boys and we all headed to Colorado Springs for the 4th of July!

I have to admit I was a wee tiny bit (ok, a lot of a bit) anxious about the plane ride with Walker. He is 16 months old and is into EVERYTHING. He is also into destroying everything he touches. Thankfully, things went a LOT smoother than I thought they would...thanks to Dum Dum Suckers and Elmo. Whew!

We had to get up at 4 a.m. to head to the airport for our 6 a.m. flight...we took a BIG family nap the afternoon we got to The Broadmoor where we were staying. Here are my cuties snuggling after we all woke up!

Walker posing on our balcony. I heart the mountains!

The Fourth of July is super fun at The Broadmoor. So many family friendly activities! Jackson went fishing with Renzi (see pic), they also had paddleboat races where you tried to gather as many rubber duckies in the lake. Renzi and Jackson got second place in their heat! We also played, Guess the Weight of the Watermelon, saw a Magic Show and played Bingo!

Jackson and I snuggling outside in the Colorado Mountain air!

As luck would have it, my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Chris from North Carolina just happened to be visiting Colorado Springs so they stopped by on the 4th for breakfast and a walk. So fun to spend family time with them!

The main activity we all engaged in was...swimming! We swam and swam and swam. Walker swam so much that this is pretty much how he ended up most days as I strolled him back to our room for a nap. Poor baby just couldn't wait for his nap!

We also spent time eating at lots of the wonderful restaurants at The Broadmoor. This was right before our dinner at The Tavern. My cute boys!

We also got to do a "Behind the Scenes" Zoo tour. It may have been one of the coolest things I have ever done! We got to ride on golf carts with two guides and we fed Tigers, Rhinos, saw the new Lion exhibit, fed Otters, Penguins and Giraffes.

Here is Renzi with Walker feeding a rhino! Their mouths are so gross but their teeth are WAY far back in their mouths.

And here is Jackson giving it a try!

Just a couple of dudes hanging with a giraffe.

The giraffe's tongues are so flipping long! And dry and scratchy!

Our friends Bob and Heather Ross and their kiddos Lilly and Frank were also at The Broadmoor and they are the ones who organized the zoo trip. Here are the kiddos after we were finished!

The four adults all went to dinner the last night so the boys had room service before the babysitter came. French fries, grilled cheese and milk. These boys have it rough! Ha!

And then...on our way home...Jackson lost his second tooth in the Dallas airport! Two bottom teeth now gone. I wish I could keep him 5 years old forever!

Great family vacation! Can't wait to travel on another adventure with my babies again soon!

Get away...last post

Last night we had more delicious wine.

Spent more time with this fabulous couple.

Laughed and laughed and laughed. And ate and ate and ate.

We also went paddleboarding. Have you ever paddleboarded?

It's quite an amazing experience. The views were spectacular.

Our guide was a gem...and pretty hot to boot. Love ya Ren. :)

Have loved every moment of this getaway.

Can't wait to come back!! Thank you Blackberry Farms for a wonderful experience!

Little get away

My sweet hubby and I are currently on a quick weekend get away to Blackberry Farms in Tennessee.

OMG.

This place.

I can't get enough.

It was recently named by Bon Apeit magazine as the number on resort for food lovers and by Conde Nast Traveler as the number two resort in the country for food and wine.

And let me tell you something.

It's no joke.

We have been hiking and sleeping and eating and sleeping and drinking great wine.

And today we went paddle boarding. Seriously one of the most fun things ever.

This place is so gorgeous. It's nestled in the Smoky Mountains and the views are just breathtaking.

And the wine...look at this 200 page wine list!

I love spending good quality time with this man of mine. Recharges my spirit and I am reminded again and again how much I love this sweet husband of mine. I love spending hours talking and hours sitting quietly reading and just sitting next to him.

I am also so happy that my cousin Christie and her hubby Yomi have been able to join us this weekend. It's their first weekend away from their kids ever. We are having the best time together.

Christie and I are two days apart and we are literally the same person. Except she is a doctor and I am not. We laugh at the same things and we get so excited about each meal. I love this lovely girl with all of my heart and always have.

Christie is preggers with her third baby so Yomi, Renzi and I shared this wine. So amazeballs.

This morning this is where I found my shoe. Guess that wine was better than I thought. Ha!

And here I sit on our porch reading. Love time with my love.

We go home tomorrow and I can't wait to see my babies!
