Birthday Shenanigans

Jackson's birthday extended one week after his actual birthday this year.

Here he is at his birthday celebration at his school. Renzi and I came to circle time and watched Jackson lead his class in Calendar work, passing out of his special snacks that we brought and listened to the hilarious stories that come out of 4 and 5 year old mouths. Seriously, I was dieing laughing the entire time while also bursting with pride watching Jackson lead the class. So proud of my 5 year old!

When Renzi was scheduled to have back surgery near Jackson's birthday, we decided to have a VERY small party for Jackson the week after his actual birthday. Even though Renzi ended up just having a procedure done on his back and then having foot surgery so he was actually quite helpful, we still decided to keep it small. We invited his soccer team and two of Jackson's girlfriends to our house for pizza and then Renzi and "Uncle Tim" took the kids to the movies while I stayed home with Walker.

Of course, the night started with a game of bball on our front driveway.

Here's the crew with CJ Heskett right before pizza.

Here's my sweet birthday boy about to blow out his candles!

And this picture pretty much is the best picture in all of the land. Look at these yahoos!

All in all, the kids had a great time! Renzi said that with 6 five year olds NO ONE had to use the bathroom throughout the entire movie. Must be some kind of record or something! And the highlight was when the boys (who rode with Renzi) pulled up to the movie theatre next to Tim's car, where the girls were and the boys serenaded the girls with a little Justin Bieber. Folks, it doesn't get much better than that!!!

And because I haven't posted an outfit picture from Jackson in a while, here you go. Still going strong with his different sense of style.

Jackson Stone is 5 years old!

My dearest Jackson,

How in the world are you 5 years old???

You, my dear, hold my heart in the palm of your hand.

The very first time I saw your face I knew what love at first sight truly meant. Your tiny little 5 pound self literally changed who I was, who I am and who I want to be.

Over the years I have been so proud to be your mom. Your kind spirit oozes out of you. Your hilarious nature makes me and others laugh out loud at you all day long. But what I am most proud of, is your love and understanding for Jesus. You know him so well. You have a close relationship with him. You understand his ways better than even your dad and I do. When your brother died, YOU were the one who helped us understand that he was in a better place. You were the one to bring our faith to the forefront. And for that, I thank you.

You bring so much joy to so many people. You are so stinking smart, it amazes me! And you have such a love for people and you love to ask everyone you see how their day is going and how they are feeling. It warms my heart to see how social you are and I hope that you never lose that self confidence and social ability!

Thank you for being the best big brother to your little brothers, Isaiah and Walker. Walker (as well as Isaiah) look up to you and think you are the coolest thing ever. You are such a shining example of who they should aspire to be. Thank you for loving them as much as you do.

My love, I love you to the moon and back.

And I hope you know that when you grow up you know without a doubt that in the story of my life, my kids are my favorite chapter.

Walker Stone is 6 months old!

I love 6 months. Such a milestone. Such a feeling of "hey, we've got this!" Cute smiles and laughs, oh and let's not forget about the sleep. Oh sweet sleep. At 6 months old, everyone is certainly getting more sleep than you were, say, 5 months ago!

Walker is 19 lbs. 8 oz and 28.5 inches long. That's, 80th percentile and 95th percentile respectively. Long and lean my little munchkin is!

I broke out my trusty grocery and high chair cover today and what a difference it made today while shopping! My man loved it and was so content.

See, he's so relaxed he is kicked back and chilling in the high chair at Whole Foods.

To my Walker Bear...we love you so!!!

Oh...and guess who is spending their last night as a four year old???

Yup...this guy. So hard to believe he is going to be 5 tomorrow. So hard to even comprehend!!!!!

Love these boys to the moon and back.

First day of school!

My sweet Jackson started his second year of 5 Day this year at Westminster (also known as PreK). With him having an August 31st birthday and him not being 5 yet we decided to have him do 5 day again so that he isn't the youngest in his class. He is super pumped about 5 day again this year because this year he gets to go ALL DAY! Last year he only went to school from 8:15 a.m.-11:15 a.m. every day and this year he goes from 8:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Little man gets to eat lunch at school, have chapter time AND have 2 recesses. Life is good for Jackson Stone.

Here are my boys outside of school on the first day.

CHEEEEEESSSEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just HAD to pick up cupcakes from Green Goodies before I picked Jackson up Friday. Everyone needs a cupcake on their first day of school! Even moms.

Annnnddd he's OUT! Literally fell asleep mid sentence at 7:30 p.m. I can't get enough of taking pictures of my kids while they are sleeping.

And here are my boys Saturday morning. So cute don't ya think???

Hope everyone has a great week. My sweet hubby is having back surgery this week so we would appreciate your prayers for a successful surgery and recovery. And sanity for me, taking care of all 3 of my boys! :)

Colorado and Poopapalooza 2.

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Colorado Springs with our family. Renzi's brother Grant and his wife Brooke and their boys Jake (23 months) and Asher (5 1/2 months), "Stone Chic," and Renzi's sister Ginny and her husband Dave and their litte boy, Miller (12 months), "Badanes Family," along with our two little ones all traveled to The Broadmoor this past week for a few days. It was total and pure chaos with all of these kiddos but I loved EVERY minute of it!!! So good to get these boys together and so good to get to spend time with my in-laws!

Here are some pictures from our trip.

Here we are when we landed in Colorado Springs. My boys were champs on the flight!

Me and my honey with a rare photo opp of just us! We have the same picture in the same spot from the last part of our honeymoon 6 years ago.

Look at my lovies!!!!! We spent a lot of time sitting outside and enjoying each other's company, the weather and wine!

Seriously....look at these boys.....Asher and Walker. 4 days apart. Look out ladies. These Stone boys are going to be HEARTBREAKERS!!! It was so fun to see them interact. Brooke and I would sit them up face to face and they would be just chatting away and laughing and grabbing at each other's hands and faces. It was so cute and Brooke and I literally had tears in our eyes watching them. Now, if only we knew what they were saying to each other.

Grant, Renzi, Jackson, Jake, Walker and Asher at lunch before Ginny and Dave arrived. Stop crying Walker.

They had an amazing pool at The Broadmoor with these really cool slides! We all took many many many trips down them. Here is Uncle Dave taking his turn.

And now, Jackson's turn! I was so proud to see this little fish swim and swim and go down the slide time after time. Jackson is normally my cautious one and he gamed up and FINALLY took the plunge (literally) and went down the slides. So fun.

You have to have matching pajamas on vacation! Cute boys in cute Cars pajamas.

Sweet Miller just loved hugging Jackson. Here they are in the cabana by the pool. So precious.

We got these cute boys to nap in the cabana one day. Total cute overload.

Ginny and I and our babies!

By the last day, Walker officially mastered the "I will nap anywhere, just please let me sleep," nap by the pool.

We hired the photographer from the hotel to take pictures of the boys and all of us. Total hilariousness. Here are some previews of the pics.

We all piled into the hotel shuttle and went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo one morning. Here we are on the bus. And yes, we took up the whole shuttle.

Sweet boy at the zoo!

The giraffe exhibit was pure entertainment! I have never seen so many giraffes in one place and so friendly. Here is a pic of Ginny, Miller and Jackson feeding the giraffe.

Jackson holding a bird in the bird exhibit. Have I ever mentioned that I think birds are creepy? Oh and cats too.

My sweet nephew Asher and I snuggling on the porch. LOVE. THIS. KID.

Jackson playing cards during a rainy afternoon with all of this uncles.

And....here we all are! I love my family!

And what's a trip without a good story to wrap the vacation up with???

Let me tell you a little story about our travels home yesterday.....

We flew from Colorado Springs to Dallas and then Dallas to OKC. We were boarding our flight for OKC from Dallas when for some reason we were flagged. Turns out, Renzi and I were bumped from the 2:35 p.m. flight to the 4:35 p.m. flight and Jackson was still on the 2:35 p.m. flight. Yes. Our 4 year old was scheduled to fly alone from Dallas to OKC while his parents stayed back in Dallas to catch the next flight. That sounds reasonable. Right??? Ummm....No.

Since the 2:35 p.m. flight was full and so was the 4:35 p.m. flight someone needed to fly on the 2:35 p.m. flight and there was (obviously) no way it would be Jackson alone, so after much scrambling we finally got my name switched with Jackson's and Walker and I raced onto the plane while Renzi and Jackson stayed behind to catch the next flight.

I get to my seat, which was the window seat in the middle of the plane, haul my 20 pound 5 month old into my lap and stick a bottle in his mouth because he is now full on screaming because he is so hungry. Oh...and the AC is just barely blowing in my seat so I am now sweating bullets. As we begin to take off down the runway I start to smell something. Something that does not smell good. And that's when I realize that Walker has pooped and it has gone out the sides of his diaper and all over himself and onto my lap.

Thankfully, I had a really nice couple sitting next to me, who when I explained what had happened began to laugh with me. Because we had literally just taken off I asked them if they minded if I attempted to change his diaper on my lap and they said no problem and to let me know if I needed any help. Score one for me for nice seat mates, right??!!

I reach down below the seat to grab the diaper bag when I realize that in the confusion on who was going to fly with Walker and who was going to fly with Jackson not everything was transferred to the right bag. And I had ZERO DIAPERS AND NO WIPES.

So...I used the burp cloth to wipe off what I could, used some wet napkins from the flight attendant and wrapped him up in the blue airplane blanket they so kindly let me keep and thanked the good Lord that the flight from Dallas to OKC was only 28 minutes.

Thankfully, Walker had his pacifier. Oh wait.....As soon as I got him cleaned up I picked him up to pat his back and he shot his pacifier out of his mouth and it in between the legs of the male passenger seated behind us. And he was asleep.

I made the executive decision to let that pacifier go.

I would also like to make a formal request to Walker that he please stop pooping on his mother. See "Poopapalooza," for more info on this subject.

Thank you.

"Jabba Talk"

In the last year Jackson has discovered Star Wars. He loves it.

And apparently...Walker does too.

Here is a video of Walker doing "Jabba Talk" to his little brother.

Hilariousness.

A couple of things to note about the video.

1. Yes, I realize Jackson has a mullet. He has since had a haircut.

2. Why, yes, that is Jackson saying his favorite phrase, "This. Is. Awkward."

3. Freaking Annabelle the dog makes an appearance in the background with her bark. After I took this video I discovered that she had somehow gotten into the Diaper Genie and gone to town on some diapers. Disgusting. Dog for Sale. Seriously. She drives me nuts.

4. I think my kids are flipping precious.

5. That is all.

Walkie Talkie is 5 months old!

Walker (AKA Walkie Talkie as his big brother affectionately calls him) is 5 months old! The sweet spot of babies in my opinion. I love 5 and 6 months because their head and neck control is pretty good, you can hold them on your hip, you can feed them baby food and best of all...most of the time you have their sleep sum what figured out!

Here's my cutie during his month photo shoot. Little lovey is losing his hair and growing new hair in its place. He's like a little old man.

He loves to swing!

He loves to cuddle with his brother morning, noon and night. Walker's big brother can do no wrong and he is fascinated by him. He especially loves sitting in his bumbo chair and watching Jackson play basketball.

Sitting in his high chair. At our lake house we pull the high chair outside and Walker will just sit and look at the scenery for a long time.

And he loves going swimming!

And his jumperoo exersaucer has become quite a big hit as well.

At Walker's last doc appointment he was 19 lbs. 11 oz and 27 inches long. He has a really long torso and what I lovingly refer to as "thunder thighs." Seriously, you should SEE the rolls on this kiddos legs. Love, love love.

Happy 5 months my sweet Walker!
